The Palmyra Canal Town Days Parade steps off promptly at 4:00 PM on September 18th. This year, the parade will feature thirteen marching bands including Mighty St. Joe’s, Prime Time Brass, and everybody’s favorite gangsters, The Hit Men. There will be performances by the Finger Lakes Drum Line, Towpath Volunteer’s Fife and Drum Corps, Penn Dixie, and several local bands. And of course, many local service groups, businesses, and political figures will be represented. The floats this year will celebrate the Erie Canal! The Pal Mac High School Band will lead the parade and perform the National Anthem while the American Legion presents the colors. Prior to the parade there will be a performance by the Penn Dixie Band beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the grandstand. Watch for The Hit Men to accost the audience along the parade route! The parade will culminate with a performance by Mighty St. Joe’s at the grandstand. They will not be continuing on to the parade endpoint at Mill St., so the public is invited to fill in Route 31 to view their performance. And please, stick around for a performance by Prime Time Brass! If you haven't submitted your announcement form, please read this letter and complete the form. The lineup for the parade will be posted to the website the night before. Participants should arrive at the staging area an hour before the start to allow time for locating their place in the lineup.
